About the event
Join VinoMare for its second release party. This time the focus is on Umbria and Tuscany, two regions that have produced wine for thousands of years, but are witnessing change and rebirth. Once prestigious DOCG such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Orvieto Classico Superiore lost some of their shine in the 70s, 80s and 90s but are now are reclaiming their titles of some of Italy's best white wines. This movement has been led by passionate winemakers and winery owners such as two of our favourites, Panizzi (San Vernaccia), and Barberani (Orvieto). For the last 50 years, the wines of Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico and Super Tuscan blends from the Maremma have dominated Tuscany's red wine aisles.
